$620,300.00 = number of dollars received by pledge on Commitment Sunday, February 24, 2019

A note from your Capital Campaign Co-Chairpersons
We all know how two people can look at the same thing and reach different conclusions. Partially fill a glass with water. One person believes that the glass is half full, another that it is half empty.
Last weekend, we kicked off the giving portion of our Strong in Faith: Today’s Vision, Tomorrow’s Mission campaign. Our Campaign Team was elated that, on Commitment Sunday, we received over $620,000 in pledges and gifts toward our goal of $1,000,000.
Now, here is what is important to understand. A little over half of our congregation returned their pledge cards and placed us at about 63% of our goal. People who attended gave generously as they were able and we came away enthused, seeing the glass as MORE than half full on the first day of the giving/pledging portion of our campaign. We are truly grateful for, and very encouraged by this outpouring of support, and thankful to God for all God is providing to this campaign.
BUT OUR CAMPAIGN ISN’T OVER, as we will be reaching out to nearly half of our congregation who were not able to attend last Sunday’s event. Many were out of town or could not attend for other reasons. We know that many of these people intend to give to the campaign but have not yet received a commitment card to do so. Over the next several weeks, we will be reaching out to them, asking them to help us fill the rest of the glass.
We expect to complete the giving part of our campaign by the end of March and will provide periodic updates as to our progress.
Please continue to pray for our efforts and thank you for your wonderful support. May God continue to bless you and Christ Lutheran Church.
