Youth Group and Faith Formation Classes

Every Sunday, from 9:45-10:30 a.m., we offer fun, age appropriate classes for our youth and children.

WHY FAITH FORMATION FOR OUR KIDS?

An answer from the ELCA website:

“The ELCA is a church that believes God is calling us into the world – together. As part of this call, we seek the common good for society, provide moral vision and are committed to addressing social and cultural injustices and issues. The ELCA participates in God’s just and loving purpose for all of creation in many different ways, from the daily actions of members as citizens, to efforts in social service, to public witness for justice.”

Faith Formation helps kids to understand God’s plan for His world and His plan for them. This in turn will enable our kids to go out into the world with the confidence they need to address the problems of this world.

This summer our CLC kids (age 6 to 15) went on a mission trip to the NC mountains and planted a whole field of sweet potatoes for a food bank in Asheville. This is faith applied!

Carpenters For Christ

Carpenters For Christ is a newly formed group for members of our congregation willing to give of their time and talent to maintain and beautify our church, preschool and facilities. This group will be involved in small maintenance projects, a quarterly scheduled clean-up day and landscaping our grounds. Monetarily, the small projects we are able to repair ourselves will help keep our budget more sound for those large expenditures that may come along.

If you are interested in signing up, please contact John Babbits by phone at 843-341-2465 or be email at [email protected].

6+2 Dinner Group

The purpose of the 6+2 Dinner Group is to get to know other Christ Lutheran Church members and enjoy a meal together. Groups of 8 people (three couples and two singles) meet in each other’s home three times during the year at a mutually agreeable date and time. Singles are not asked to host a dinner. The host prepares the entree and asks others to bring side dishes and dessert, or any format you choose. Sound easy and fun? It is!

If you would like more information about this group, please contact Elsa Felten at 843-341-9147 or [email protected].

Adult Faith Formation Study Group

The leaders and members of the Adult Faith Formation Study group invite you to come and join us every Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. We currently meet in Heinrich’s Hall. We use the Augsburg Bible Studies, a quarterly dated Bible Study, which covers a wide range of biblical books and themes. Come share the fellowship of our members, our open and sincere discussion, and a study of how these scriptures relate to us in our lives today. We look forward to seeing you.

CLC Quilters

If you can operate a safety pin or if you can tie a knot, the quilters can use your skills! CLC Quilters meet at the church from October through May, on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 10:00am to 12:00noon in Heinrichs Hall. This is a wonderful time of fellowship and the making of simple quilts that are given to our church members for special occasions (like farewells and milestone birthdays) as well as places in need. If you have any questions, please contact Nancy England at 843-842-2026.

CLC Book Club

The CLC book club meets once a month, every 3rd Saturday @ 1:30 p.m., usually in one of the members’ home. The books are selected at the beginning of each year.  CLC’s Book Club is open to anyone who enjoys reading. We welcome all who love to read and share their books.
